This archive has been up and running since January 2006, and we have a total of 135 members, sad but true...this archive is a failure. It is only taking up server space, and I am not interested in maintaining it any longer. I will be closing the archive officially on July 1st.

Please take a moment or two to leave feedback and reviews for stories. We are steadily building up the archive, and we all need to take the time to encourage our authors to continue posting so that the archive can expand.



Also, please feel free to link the archive to your websites or LJ accounts. We need all of the exposure we can get if we want this archive to be successful.

Siset reported on June 27th that she was not able to leave responses to her reviews, so I investigated and fixed the problem. I thought that it might take me a couple of hours but it ended up taking me thirteen hours. I basically had to update to a newer version of efiction, lost the database, crashed the site, and had to do a lot of stressful and painstaking techniques to get us back up and running but it was worth it.

PLEASEcontact me with any errors you receive while using this site and continue to promote and talk this archive up.

I have added four new skins for you to choose from: BlueDean, RedDean, DarkDean, and GreenDean. All three skins give you the opition of adding favorite authors and stories to your account. PLUS we now have a hit counter on each story so you can see how many times your story has been read.



I have made the default skin Green Dean but you can change it to BlueDean, DarkDean, or RedDean.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank the authors who have posted on this archive. I have really enjoyed reading all of your stories. I hope that we can continue to promote this archive and get a huge following.



At the moment, I have about 500 GB of bandwidth a month to play with which is equivalent to the Prison Break archive which hosts close to two thousand stories at the moment.

Here’s a little bit about your admin:



1. I love Dean-centered slash incase you hadn’t noticed.



2. I LOVE Dean as a bottom and I created a “bottom Sam” warning so that readers with my preference for a bottom Dean can be made aware up front in the warnings if the story is their cup of tea. Nothing against bottom Sam but it just doesn’t do it to me.



3. My favorite types of stories involve non-con situations, angst, violence, and/or overall dark themes. I do like the occasional PWP (I’ve been guilty of writing a couple myself) but I do prefer stories with a deep plot and with strong character development.



4. I like sexy and funny situations in my slash as well; especially when Dean is being his sarcastic self, and I also like my Sam to be bossy and complex whenever possible.



5. I have been writing slash for fun since I was in high school where I wrote about Duran Duran and other British eighties bands (I know, loser…), but I haven’t really stopped writing since. In the nineties, I wrote about Trent Reznor and the other guys of Nine Inch Nails, and I borrowed the characters from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles and wrote my first “serious” slash story with real plot, character development, rape, angst, and lots of sex. That story was written between 1994 and 1996 and ended up being over 600 pages written. Finally, I started writing under the name Darkestangel in 1998, created my first website in 2003, created my darknessprevails site in 2005, and have been slowly adding more stuff to my site; including videos, pictures, an SPN Blog, and now this archive.



6. Feedback is what keeps me going. I love writing but sometimes the real world can bog you down and you find excuses not to write, but receiving feedback requires you to respond and to write as much as possible so that you can keep others happy. It only takes a few seconds to respond to a story that you like but it can go a long way in getting more stories from that author.

Welcome to the Slashing Dean Winchester Archive.



Please take a moment to read the submission and review rules below.



At the moment, you may freely post your stories on the archive. However, I will be reading each submission and will email you if changes need to be made to your submission. Be aware that I may make changes to headings, disclaimers, and ratings if needed and email you to look at the submission rules/instructions before submitting your next story. If you consistently ignore the submission rules I will be forced to block your submissions until I have a chance to validate them.



Also, any story posted that does not have Dean as the main character in the story will be deleted as will all drabbles less than 500 words.



Submission Rules:



1. All stories must contain slash with Dean as the central character with a rating of PG, PG-13, R, or NC-17.



2. No het or gen fic will be allowed on this archive. This is an archive for lovers of slash fiction, sorry.



3. No drabbles shorter than 500 words will be allowed.



4. When posting a story, do not include story headings, author notes/warnings, or request for feedback within the story body. Include this information within the appropriate boxes where requested.



5. Please use the proper categories, warnings, and ratings that are indicated within the submission guidelines. I will request that you change the warnings/ratings if I feel it necessary. Keep in mind that not all readers wish to read NC-17 material or violent dark fiction. Please repect other readers by labeling your submission properly.



6. You must be at least 17 or older to submit, review, or read an NC-17 story.



7. Titles and summaries must be kid friendly. No exceptions.



8.Correct grammar and spelling are expected of all stories submitted to this site. The site administrator is not a grammar Nazi. However, the site administrator reserves the right to request corrections in submissions with a multitude of grammar and/or spelling errors. If such a request is ignored, the story will be deleted.



9. Stories with multiple chapters should be archived as such and NEVER as separate stories. Upload the first chapter of your story, then go to Manage Stories in your account to add additional chapters. If you have trouble with this, please contact the site administrator or ask a friend to help you.



10.As much as possible, spoiler warnings are expected on all stories. Spoilers are mandatory for the current season. Please choose the appropriate warnings when submitting your story.



Submissions found to be in violation of these rules may be removed and the author's account suspended at the discretion of the site administrator. The site administrator reserves the right to modify these rules as needed.
